Eugene L. Grant and Richard S. Leavenworth. Statistical Quality Control. Fifth ed. McGraw-Hill, New York, NY. 1980. 684pp.

This text covers material similar in scope to Montgomery\222s Introduction to Statistical Quality Control, but provides more insight into the reasons one approach might be recommended over others.  By comparison, Montgomery\222s text seems somewhat "cookbook" in nature.  This book is usually rated a more advanced text than Montgomery's, but the additional detail to the thinking processes of quality control seem to me to result in a more lucid presentation of the subject.
