This is a translation of a book by the noted Japanese quality control expert, Kaoru Ishikawa. This book presents a great deal of the philosopy behind Total Quality Control. Ishikawa provides a great deal of material for thought, and this book presents many ideas which are only noted upon a second or third reading. I feel this book is quite valuable, less for providing a clear framework for action than for provoking thought and confronting conventional approaches to management. And the author's status lends considerable weight to the ideas presented.
